Umělkyně Martina Hoffmann, která pochází z Německa, strávila dětství v Kamerunu v rovníkové západní Africe. Vyrostla v multikulturním prostředí s německými rodiči, francouzským školním vzděláním a domorodou africkou kulturou, což proniklo do jejího života na nejhlubších instinktivních úrovních. Surová síla přírody, všudypřítomná zemská magie a duch i barvy a smyslnost bohatého afrického prostředí měly trvalý vliv na její život a práci.
Později se po návratu do rodného Německa specializovala na umění s profesorem Kieferem (otec Anselma Kiefera) a studovala u profesora Spelmanna na Univerzitě Johanna Wolfganga Goetheho ve Frankfurtu nad Mohanem.
Dnes Martina Hoffmann pracuje jako malířka a sochařka a je ústřední postavou současného vizionářského umění.
Obrazy nabízejí detailní pohled na její vnitřní krajiny – obrazotvornost, kterou inspirovalo její zkoumání v mystických stavech vědomí: sféry imaginace, meditace, šamanských cest a snový stav.
Visionářský symbolismus umění Martiny Hoffmann je rozhodně ženský a umisťuje „univerzální ženu“ do intimního vesmíru. Přepisuje své extatické zážitky i úvahy o povaze žen ve stylu, který sezdal fantastické s posvátným. S novou globální citlivostí, jíž dominuje povaha lásky, se Martina Hoffmann vyvinula do skutečně lidského způsobu myšlení a humanismu fungujícího bez ústupků vůči univerzálnímu vědomí.

Během třicetiletého partnerství a sňatku s nedávno zesnulým fantastickým realistickým malířem Robertem Venosou vyučovala malířské workshopy po celém světě na takových institucích, jako jsou Esalen v Kalifornii, Omega ve státě New York, Skyros v Řecku, Cadaques ve Španělsku, Amazonie, Bahia a Wasiwaska v Brazílii, Iquitos v Peru a mnoho dalších.
Martina Hoffmann a Robert Venosa sdíleli 30 krásných a silných let, během kterých se podrobně zabývali životem a společně tvořili. Po smrti Roberta v roce 2011 začala Martina pracovat a trávit více času v Evropě. V současné době má v USA dům i ateliér a ve Francii sdílí ateliér s novým partnerem, francouzským vizionářem Pascalem Ferrym.
Jejími slovy:
„Umělec zviditelňuje nepatrné a intuitivní stavy naší existence a vytváří mapy a symboly odrážející vědomí.
V své práci zkoumám nekonečné možnosti formy a obsahu i potenciální oblasti mimo naši konsensuální realitu se záměrem zvednout závoj mezi světy.
Moje obrazy jsou přístupové portály do mých vizí jiných světů, kde ‚Vše‘ existuje jako součást nerozdělené vesmírné síly ducha a lidstvo spočívá v jednotě mimo hranice kulturních a náboženských rozdílů. Zde existuje globální rodina ve vědomí vzájemné závislosti veškerého života na planetě a jeho propojenosti s vesmírem jako takovým. Je to realita, kdy se odpojení uzdravilo a přeměnilo na mír, harmonii a lásku.
Nakonec vidím jednu z rolí umělce jako proaktivního vizionáře zasévajícího povědomí o mystickém zážitku a šířícího poselství, že je naše prvotní právo být si vědomi spojení s vesmírem a jeho vícerozměrnými skutečnostmi.
V tomto úsilí se umění jeví jako nástroj transformace, který by mohl posunout způsob, jakým vnímáme každodenní život, a nabídnout nám příležitost vytvořit tak krásnou, zdravou a silnou realitu, jak ji vidí naše představivost.“

German-born artist, Martina Hoffmann, spent her childhood in Cameroon, equatorial West Africa. She grew up in a multi cultural environment with German parents, a French school education and the indigenous African culture which informed her life at the deepest instinctual levels. The raw power of nature, the all-pervasive earth magic and spirit as well as the colors and sensuality of the rich African environment have had a lasting influence on her life and work.
Later, upon her return to her native Germany, she majored in art with professor Kiefer (father of Anselm Kiefer) and studied sculpting with Professor Spelmann at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany,.
Today Martina Hoffmann works as a painter and sculptress and is a central figure in contemporary Visionary Art.
Her paintings offer a detailed view into her inner landscapes - imagery that has been inspired by her explorations in mystical states of consciousness: the realms of the imagination, meditation, shamanic journeys and the dream state.
The Visionary Symbolism of Martina Hoffmann’s art is decidedly feminine and places the ‘Universal Woman’ in an intimate cosmos. She transcribes her ecstatic experiences as well as her reflections on the nature of women in a style which marries the fantastic to the sacred. With a new global sensitivity, dominated by the nature of love, Martina Hoffmann has evolved towards a truly human way of thinking and a humanism that works without concession towards a universal consciousness.

During her 30 year partnership and marriage with the late Fantastic Realist painter, Robert Venosa, Martina taught painting workshops worldwide at such institutes as Esalen, CA, Omega, NY and Skyros, Greece as well as in Cadaques, Spain, Amazonia, Bahia and Wasiwaska in Brazil, Iquitos, Peru, only to name a few.
Martina Hoffmann and Robert Venosa shared 30 beautiful and powerful years of closely exploring life and creating together. After Robert’s transition in 2011, Martina started to work and spend more time in Europe. She currently keeps a home and studio in the USA as well as sharing a studio in France with her new partner, the French visionary artist, Pascal Ferry.
In her own words:
“The artist makes visible the more subtle and intuitive states of our existence and creates maps and symbols reflecting consciousness. In my work, I explore the infinite possibilities of form and content as well as the potential realms beyond our consensus reality with the intention to lift the veil between the worlds. My paintings are access portals into my visions of other worlds where the ‘All’ exists as part of spirit’s undivided Universal force, and humanity resides in oneness, beyond the confines of cultural and religious differences. Here the global family exists in an awareness of the interdependency of all life on the planet and its interconnectedness with the Universe at large. This is a reality where disconnection has been healed and transformed into peace, harmony and love.
Ultimately, I see one of the roles of the artist as the proactive visionary, seeding awareness of the mystical experience and spreading the message that it is our birthright to be conscious of our connection to the Universe and its multidimensional realities.
In this pursuit, art appears as a tool for transformation that might shift the way we perceive our daily lives while offering us the opportunity to create a reality as beautiful, healthy and strong as our imagination can see.”
